Yesterday Once More

Old friendships are one of my favorite tonics, even if you haven’t seen each other for a long while you pick up as if it was yesterday once more. Which makes me wonder why do we let so much time pass? Why don’t we make more of an effort to stay in touch? Life has a way of catching us in the day to day –Then the days become week, months and before you know it years.

Call a friend, don’t wait.

Giving

Give your time, your money, your heart and soul. We all have something to give and you’ll always get more than you gave! Such were the events of today; I’m sure most of you reading this have seen or heard of the ice bucket challenge for ALS. I have a friend who lost her husband to the disease — Anne asked for donations to ALS charities for her 50th birthday. I took her request to my students and their families and raffled off the privilege dump a bucket of ice over their instructor of choice. Tonight was the night we collected $220.00 in donations and my business matched that for a total of $440.00.

Anne got her birthday wish, we donated to great causes, children learned about ALS, my staff and I got an ice bath and we all felt the blessing of giving.

I know some of my friends and family are saying, “Another Blog” and to that I say, “Yes”. Actually this blog could’ve easily appeared on My Thoughts From The Run (self promoting) as the idea for this blog happened during my morning run.

Enough beating around the bush, I’m writing this blog for the following reasons; I need a place to write uplifting and inspiring thoughts, I’ve been reviewing Anthony Robbins Personal Power and Get the Edge programs and I’m inspired to inspire others. I’ve been challenged on Facebook to write three positive things a day for five days and I thought why only five? Finally I learn better if I write things down and I’m going through a spiritual and emotional ¬†growth spurt and I want to retain what I learn and share it with you all.

The name of this blog is Gin’s Tonic, for those of you who know me you know I love word play – This is a non-alcoholic elixir that I hope lifts your spirits, makes you think, gives you hope, and gets you addicted to a life well lived!

Cheers,

Gin
